Red Tails Video

The Tuskegee Airmen are also sometimes referred to as the Red Tail Angels or Red Tails. These are unofficial terms that were used during the WWII to describe the mostly unknown group of Airmen because of the distinctive red paint used on the tails of their fighter aircraft. The Tuskegee Airmen were America’s first black military pilots and their support personnel. They are best known for the extraordinary efforts in the air war over Europe, and for challenging the stereotypes that had kept black Americans from serving as pilots in the U.S. Armed Forces.
